Peavey 00443980 Transformer™ 112 A real amp with a real feel!Peavey Electronics' Transformer™ series amplifiers stretch the modeling amp concept to the next level. By using a combination of analog preamps and power amps that are digitally controlled and DSP (digital signal processing), the amp is literally converted into the modeled amp. The resulting amp model not only sounds the same, but also responds and feels the same as the amplifier it's simulating. It has the same gain structure, the same preamp tone, and uses the same type of equalization - even down to the same potentiometer tapers (linear or analog tapers). This means that if the user sets the controls the same as the amp he/she is modeling, it will sound the same. The power amp's damping factor is changed on each model so the amp has the same feel in terms of how floppy or tight the speaker's movement is. Digital simulations of both the modeled amp's speaker and cabinet round out the tone, and can be swapped between the various models.
