Designed for a variety of professional applications, the V-122 extends the legacy of high efficiency and performance value. Simply put, Cerwin-Vega builds the best possible loudspeaker in its price range! The V-122 is a compact full range, direct-radiating 12" 2-way system with a sensitivity rating of 102 dB (1 watt/1 meter). Utilizing newly designed components, the V-122 employs such features as: 12" woofer with diecast aluminum frame Proprietary spherical high frequency waveguides 101 db sensitivity @1 watt/1 meter Independent protection for all drivers Unlike many of its competitors, Cerwin-Vega designs and manufactures its own transducers. Innovative woofer technology used in the V-122 includes a proprietary voice coil former which exhibits all the advantages of metal yet without the pesky eddy currents which reduce efficiency. Rugged diecast woofer frame construction provides inherent rigidity and precision. The non-magnetic characteristics of aluminum ensures that the flux density remains focused in the voice coil gap and not dissipated through the frame. This results in increased efficiency and greater power handling over the long term. Remember, more efficiency means smaller amplifiers! And therefore savings in cost! Cerwin-Vega's Direct radiating venting optimizes the output of low frequency energy towards the listener. It also allows for placement of the cabinet against a wall convenient for cramped listening environments Traditionally rugged, square shaped cabinet is available in both durable grey carpet or rugged black textured paint finish (V-122MKIIX). Both versions feature a steel grille and rubber feet. The cabinet also has a 35 mm universal mount to facilitate supporting the V-122 on a stand or pole for increased projection in the venue.
