Behringer T1954 Tube Ultrafex
Our Price: $149.99

Specifications Manual Warranty Enlarged View Highband Lowband The Behringer T1954 Tube UltraFex is a stereo multi-band sound enhancement processor that can be used for stereo mastering, enhance guitar, bass, and keyboard, as well as for sound reinforcement. It can be used as both a sound enhancer and exciter as the same time. It uses two bands of processing. The Low band has an adjustable filter that can be used to tighten up the low end bass. When enabled it smooths out the sudden loudness changes that occur when bass notes change frequency (notes). This results in a tighter sounding bass with more low-end punch. The Tube Utrafex uses two tubes. The first is a 12AX7 and the second is a ECC83. These are triode based tubes that express the "Tube Warmth" sound. The Low Band consists of a LOW MIX knob and a Bass mode switch. This knob controls how much of the low signal to sound enhance. The Switch is used to tighten up the bass and give it more clarity and definition. The High Band consists of 4 knobs. The Sensitivity knob controls the amount of noise reduction is applied to the input signal. It appears operate like a noise gate. If you set have a noisy background signal you set the sensitivity to "Gate" the signal and then when you are not playing. This also determine how much Enhancement is to be applied to the signal. The main sound enhancer and exciter circuits are IC opamp based. Beheringer added the two 12AX7 tubes which will add the tube sound to the enhanced/excited sound. This ends up being a great combination because when used properly you will notice more high end and clarity in the sound. If you turn on the L/C filter you should also notice a tighter low-end as well. As with many sound enhancers (ie: BBE's and Aphex) you can overdo it and ruin a mix. I would recommend using this effect sparingly as it is very powerful and if used to much can make your mix sound metallic which is just the opposite of what you want. It comes with both XLR and 1/4" TRS inputs and outputs. The Preamp portion of the unit uses a 4580 IC Opamp which is very clean and transparent. The knobs are detented so it's stays where you turned it even if it gets bumped. Lets not forget the Surround processor. The Tube Ultrfex has a knob for controlling the amount of surround processing to be applied to the signal. Again Behringer has put all this in a simple to use 2 rack space unit.
