Alesis DEQ-224 Equalizer This Alesis Equalizer is a two channel (STEREO) 24-band graphic EQ that takes up only 1/2 rack of space. This is perfect for small as well as large PA system or studios where space is truely at a minimum. This is a digital EQ and uses a 28-bit DSP. It has 16-bit AD and DA converters with a frequency response of 20Hz to 20kHz. The dynamic range is better than 96 dB but will vary depending upon the EQ settings (This is with all digital equalizers). The Alesis DEQ-224 has balanced TRS (Tip Ring Sleeve) connectors that can also accept -10 dB (commercial line level) 1/4 inputs. The Outputs are the same. If you look at the above picture you will notice that it shows the current EQ setting for each band using a 13-segment LED. This is great when you're across the room and can't see. Many people think that the LEDs are some type of spectral reading but it's not (that would be cool wouldn't it). There are also LED clip indicators and a per channel bypass and link controls. The link controls basically allows the Alesis EQ to apply the EQ settings from channel 1 to channel 2. This really saves time as well as percison when you're trying to ring out a room.
