AKG SOLITUBE Large Diaphragm Condenser Mic The SOLIDTUBE is the result of over a half century of experience in the design of world-class transducers with tube electronics. Ruggedness, high SPL capability and extremely low self-noise coupled with its unmistakable "tube sound" make the SOLIDTUBE a highly desired microphone. With its elegant styling, impeccable build quality and superb performance, the SOLIDTUBE is in an entirely different class from the multitude of "classic" tube microphone imitators on the market. The large-diaphragm condenser transducer has been specially tuned by AKG for this microphone, resulting in a velvety smooth, 3-dimensional, highly accurate sound. The heart of the SOLIDTUBE is the ECC 83 (12AX7) vacuum tube that provides the perfect transfer characteristics and is readily available. A 20 dB pad on the SOLIDTUBE enables the microphone to handle sound pressure levels up to 145 dB. Low frequency noise below 100 Hz can be eliminated by activating the low-cut switch on the front panel of the separate power supply. The SOLIDTUBE comes in a rugged aluminum carrying case with a complete set of accessories: elastic shock mount, windscreen, power supply and connecting cables. Three-year warranty.
